We have built our service with your security as our highest priority. We use only PCI-certified Service Providers that have been certified with the highest level of security for processing credit card transactions. For more information about this, please take a look at this information on Stripe security and the Mastercard Payment Gateway System.
We sometimes work with charities, merchants, financial institutions and other partners which act as data controllers, including for processing payment transactions. If you have any questions, feel free to email us on support@goodworld.me.

We reserve the right to update the Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes to the Privacy Policy, we will notify you by posting the new policy with a revised date at the top of the Privacy Policy and posting an alert on our website www.goodworld.me.
The Goodworld community is made up of two groups:

We also collect information from other sources and combine that with information we collect from you directly and through your use of our Services. For example, when you create or log into your Goodworld account using a third-party social networking site, such as Facebook or Twitter, we will have access to your account information in accordance with your privacy settings on that third-party social networking site, and the corresponding authorization procedures determined by such third-party social networking sites and their application programming interfaces (“API”s). The account information that we can access from third-party social networking sites may include information, for example, posts or tweets from your timeline and the individuals whom you follow on the third-party social networking site.

By accessing and using our Services, you consent to the processing and transfer of information about you and your use of our Services.
You can modify or review your account settings at any time by accessing the Donor Dashboard (Goodworld.me) and following the instructions there.
You may choose to allow GW to share your personal identifying information with any Organization to which I make a donation or our customers or sponsors for such parties’ marketing purposes; if you do not check the box to allow this, then GW will not share your personal identifying information with such party(ies). You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some parts of our service.
If you want to receive a tax receipt from the Organization for your donation, then you must: (a) provide us with your name and email address either at the time of registration or later by modifying your Donor Dashboard selections; and (b) check the box on the registration site that allows GW to share your personal identifying information with each Organization to which you donate. This in turn will enable each such Organization to email you a tax receipt. By law, tax receipts must be generated by the Organization, not Goodworld. See more about this at Section i, Tax Receipts, below.
Under this Privacy Policy, and by law, you have the following rights:
Email support@goodworld.me with your requests and concerns.
Visit www.goodworld.me and submit your questions or request through the chat function on the website. Write a request to Goodworld’s office at 1875 K Street NW, Suite 400, Washington, DC 2000. Authorized Agent. For verification, the users must communicate to Goodworld stating that they have an authorized attorney or agent to help with the donor’s concerns regarding their personal data usage.
You understand that, when you post on social media sites a Goodworld “#donate”, you will therefore let your friends on Facebook and your followers on Twitter know about your donation, in real time. You can harness the power of social media to spread the word of your donations. The settings that control who will see your FB post or your Tweet are in two places:
You are responsible for setting and maintaining these settings. While we know many of our Donors want to publicize the fact that they just made a donation of, for example, $25 to ABC Charity, you have the power to control what information is shared across social networks by your controls on those networks. But you can control this only if you use the settings on the Goodworld account registration page AND your settings on Facebook and Twitter. Of course all information transmitted on the Facebook and Twitter platforms is controlled by and subject to their respective privacy policies, which may be found at https://www.facebook.com/policy.php and https://twitter.com/privacy.
The privacy of individuals and entities that use our Services is important to us and, as such, we do not sell, trade, or rent any information regarding individuals or entities that use our Services to outside individuals or entities other than under certain limited circumstances that are outlined below.
We also may share aggregated or anonymized information with third parties – this information would not directly identify you. Further, we use the services of Intercom when you communicate with us on our website. Intercom's Private Policy can be accessed at: www.intercom.com/terms-and-policies#terms
We do not disclose personal information we collect about users defined by the California Consumer Protection Act of 2018. We also will not sell or share any data collected from any of the three categories aforementioned without a donor’s consent.
Since protecting the privacy of the personal information of Donors is important to us, we practice appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of such information.
After you register to use our Services, your credit card information is directly transmitted to and stored by a secured third-party service provider and at no time will Goodworld directly store your credit card information.
In the event that you want to receive a receipt from the Organization for your donation, then the Organization must have your email address in the context of your donation. We will not transmit your email address to the Organization unless you elect to share your information by checking the box described in Section E above.
While Goodworld may provide you with acknowledgment of your instructions to make a donation, and with a summary of your donations, it is the responsibility of the Organization to provide you with the tax receipt for the donation.
We may employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Those vendors may have access to personally identifiable information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for any other purposes, including selling it or providing it to others.
If you wish to deactivate or terminate your account, you can do so by clicking “Delete my Account” on the page accessible through the Donor Dashboard. If you choose to deactivate your account, we may still retain certain information about you, including information about you as required by law or for legitimate business purposes for a limited time. We reserve the right to decline Services or terminate Services to any Donor that is in violation of this Policy or the Terms of Use, that is engaged in any illegal or immoral use of the Service, or for any other reason in our judgment.
We may send you emails about our Services and Organizations from time to time. You may opt-out of receiving promotional emails from us by following the instructions contained in any of those emails. If you opt-out of receiving promotional emails, however, we may still send you transactional or relationship communications via email, such as reminders, confirmation, and other messages about your account or donations.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some parts of our service.
The Website may contain links to third-party websites, including the websites of non-profits and other businesses or organizations, or of advertisers on the Website. Goodworld is not responsible for the privacy practices, policies, or content of such third-party websites.
Goodworld may keep track of how you interact with links, including links to third-party websites, by redirecting clicks or through other means. We keep track of this information to help improve our Services, and so that we can share aggregate click-statistics such as how many times a particular link was clicked on.
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from persons under thirteen years of age through our Services or otherwise. If we learn that any individual who used our Services is under the age of 13, or that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from an individual under the age of 13 through the Website, we will take appropriate steps to remove information regarding that individual from our database(s) and to restrict that individual’s access to our Services. We also do not knowingly distribute such information to third parties.
We also may limit how we collect, use and store some of the information of users between 13 and 18 years old. In some cases, this means we will be unable to provide certain functionality of the service to these users.
If we need to rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your information and your country requires consent from a parent, we may require your parent’s consent before we collect and use that information.
We collect information that you provide to us directly, such as information that you provide when you register to be an Organization, including your corporate name, address, EIN, tax-exempt or other status and certain banking information to allow processing.
We commit to keep confidential all non-public information. We do not sell, rent or trade lists of our Organizations. We may combine the information that we receive from you with other information in order to create studies and reports to analyze and improve our services. We may identify an Organization as a part of the GW community unless you request otherwise in writing.
We may not be able to keep confidential your Organization’s information if, in our judgment, we are required to disclose it for legal reasons, such as a subpoena, to provide that information to authorities.
Goodworld may provide a public confirmation of your donation after your donation is made through a response to your Facebook or Twitter post and you consent to this acknowledgement.
If an Organization wishes to be removed from the roster of eligible Goodworld Organizations, please write an email requesting that to support@goodworld.me.
Organization understands that a Donor, in making a donation to an Organization using our Service, will therefore cause the fact of that donation and Organization’s name to be published or re-published on Facebook and on Twitter, which may in turn also appear elsewhere in social media. The publication of such information on Facebook, Twitter and other social media is governed by the rules relating to those media and platforms, which are beyond the control of Goodworld.
By registering as an Organization to use our Services, you agree to abide by Goodworld’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Specifically, you agree that you may not use Donor’s personally identifiable information for any purpose other than (a) creating a receipt suitable for tax purposes to be sent to Donor via email or other means;
(b) completing the intended transaction in the rare event that any contact with Donor is necessary; and
(c) for other Donor-facing communications. An Organization may not compile Donor information for any other purpose, and may not sell or transfer or make available that information to a third party.
We reserve the right to decline Services or terminate Services to any Organization that is in violation of this Policy, that is engaged in any illegal or immoral activity or use of the Service, or for any other reason in our judgment.
We invite everyone, Donors and Organizations, to read the Terms of Use, which are available at Goodworld.me. The Privacy Policy is subject to the Terms of Use, and is a part of the Terms of Use.
