WCNY, founded in 1965 as The Educational Television Council of Central New York, is today a community-owned media company that produces content across multiple platforms, including television and radio programs, dynamic web and targeted e-mail content, the bimonthly CONNECT magazine, and social media. Through our use of streaming technology, we now have a global broadcast audience of viewers and listeners throughout the United States and 17 countries. WCNY can – and does – deliver the right audience to area businesses eager to communicate locally, nationally or internationally.
At the same time, WCNY has made history with its new Joint Master Control operation, the first collaboration of its kind within PBS, which is using WCNY’s cost-savings strategy as a model for the entire PBS system.
