The Mercedes Parra Foundation (MPF) is a nonprofit organization. The foundation was established in 2010 and is named in the honor of the late Mercedes Maria Parra Forbes.

The foundation provides programs and services aimed at ensuring gender equity by promoting sustainable economic and social development through training, consultancy, and direct support of individual women, groups and organizations.

MPF’s work targets five dimensions of female empowerment and opportunity:
Economic participation
Economic opportunity
Political empowerment
Educational attainment
Health and well-being
