Shaw PBR is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving abused, abandoned or neglected American Pit Bull Terriers.

We have over 30 years experience with pit bulls, and truly believe they are wonderful, loving animals that deserve the chance to have a good life. Over the years, we have seen many cases of irresponsible pet ownership, resulting in dumped, lost, mistreated or surrendered animals. By educating the public about responsible pet ownership issues, we hope to improve the overall welfare of pets in our society.

Originally intending to rehabilitate one to two dogs at a time, we now have over 40 adopt-a-bulls - and all are awaiting their forever homes. One major difference of Shaw PBR over most other rescues, and shelters - is that all dogs that come to us are at our facility until new homes are found. We also do not utilize fosters - all dogs are in our personal care so that we can better monitor their health and answer any questions potential owners may have regarding behavior, etc.

We do not have a staff - we both work full time jobs, on top of the rescue work. Thankfully, we have a great group of volunteers and board members that help with fundraisers, events, networking and help with 'doggie spa days'.

Fundraisers, adoption events, and Shaw PBR merchandise is also available to raise funds to keep our efforts going. Some of our merchandise includes T-shirts, decals, homemade peanut butter dog biscuits, calendars, one-of-a-kind hand painted piggy banks and acrylic canvas paintings.

Our adoption fees range from $100-$150. All adopt-a-bulls are spayed or neutered; up-to-date on all vaccinations, including rabies and tag; on heart worm preventive; have been treated for fleas; and are micro chipped.

We currently have 4 pit bulls, a pot bellied pig, and a cat living in our household - and they all get along fine!

Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide abused, abandoned or homeless pit bull dogs with the medical attention they need; as well as the love and attention they deserve to heal - both emotionally, and physically.

We will work to facilitate the rescue and placement of abused or abandoned pit bulls into responsible homes and participate in fundraising to provide veterinary treatment; spay/neuter; food and shelter.

We are dedicated to fostering responsible pit bull ownership through education, adoption, and breed advocacy.
